# Swim at Your Own Risk: Privacy Self-Audit Tools

These tools can help you see what a stranger might find about you. They are not a BlockTheCalls search, do not make you anonymous, and cannot prove that a result belongs to you.

At a glance

**Use only your own information.** Never enter a password, one-time code, recovery code, Social Security number, bank login, crypto seed phrase, or another person’s identifying information. Read each provider’s current privacy policy before submitting anything.

## Start with official, free protections

| Check | Resource | What it tells you | Limit |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Known email breaches | [Have I Been Pwned](https://haveibeenpwned.com/) | Whether an email appeared in known breach datasets and whether notifications are available. | A hit is exposure evidence, not proof of current account takeover. |
| Search-result contact data | [Google Results about you](https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/12719076) | Finds eligible phone, email, or address results and provides removal requests. | Removing a search result does not remove the source page. |
| Credit and identity file | [AnnualCreditReport.com](https://www.annualcreditreport.com/) | Official free credit-report access and identity-theft review. | Reviewing a report does not freeze it; use the [CFPB freeze guidance](https://www.consumerfinance.gov/ask-cfpb/what-is-a-security-freeze-en-1341/). |
| Broker exposure | [Optery](https://www.optery.com/pricing/) | A consumer exposure report and self-service removal information. | Listings can return; compare the current data required, coverage, and deletion policy. |

## See yourself like a stranger

### Keep your own audit trail on this device only

When you find a page that exposes your information, paste its public URL below. This helper saves only the URLs you choose in this browser. Check Wayback on a saved URL when you want to look it up. Nothing is sent to BlockTheCalls, and we do not run searches for you.

Public URL you found

No URLs saved.

Saved URLs stay in this browser’s local storage. Clear them with your browser’s site-data controls.

### Open your own searches in a new tab

These buttons prepare a search in your browser only. Review the destination’s privacy policy before submitting anything. BlockTheCalls does not receive these values or run these searches.

Your own name, email, phone, or username

No search has been opened.

1. Search your name in quotes, old names, email, phone, address, and distinctive usernames in [Google](https://www.google.com/) and [Bing](https://www.bing.com/).
2. Use [Namechk](https://namechk.com/) only to understand where you reused a username. A matching handle is not identity proof.
3. Reverse-search a profile image you own with [Google Lens](https://lens.google/) or [TinEye](https://tineye.com/). Do not upload a child’s or another person’s photo.
4. Check known URLs in the [Wayback Machine](https://web.archive.org/). Deleting a current page does not guarantee archived copies disappeared.

## What BlockTheCalls does, and does not, run

Our exposure service is limited to a verified person’s own identifiers and approved sources. The current one-time report does not silently run data-broker scraping, people-search, face search, username enumeration, or criminal-leak databases. A link on this page means **action required by you**, not “checked by BlockTheCalls.”

We intentionally exclude broad investigator tools such as Shodan, SpiderFoot, Recon-ng, and credential-dump databases from the consumer report and MCP. They can expose other people, sensitive records, or systems without a safe consumer purpose.

## After you find something

- Secure the primary email first, then change every reused password and add MFA or passkeys.
- Request removal from the original publisher before asking a search engine to remove an eligible result.
- Freeze credit if identity information was exposed and it is not already frozen.
- Save the URL, date, and confirmation without copying unrelated people’s data.
